I first want to say that I miss our sweet kiddos very much! I know this is very hard on everyone and we want to first and foremost be here to support the social and emotional needs of our students, parents, and staff. We are working to create a flexible virtual learning experience for our students as we navigate through these uncharted waters. Our teachers have been working together to create a structured and easy to use format for our students. Our district administrators, coaches and support staff worked hard this morning to get supplies and devices out to parents and students that need them. This will be an ongoing process as our family's needs are communicated to us.
Today we are working to troubleshoot technical issues as much as we can to be prepared as possible to send out our teacher prepared work tomorrow. You should receive some sort of communication from teachers today to make sure your students will have access to their lessons and can participate as much as possible. In saying that, we realize there are families who do not have what they need to participate at this point. We will be working to meet the needs of students in other ways if that is the case.
Pre-K through First Grade will receive their communication/work through See Saw this week as we work to get those students set up in a Google Classroom. We know this will be a new platform for them. We will make sure everything is very simple and clear before we launch this to the lower grade levels. Second grade will receive their work in Google Classroom. Your students have been using this platform all year and should be comfortable using it.
The lessons you receive tomorrow will be very structured and easy to navigate for your child. We realize there will be bumps but we are ready to do whatever necessary to support our families. Please know that our main goal as a district is to support our community in this time of need through providing resources and experiences. You will receive a fun campus update from me on Friday with a video message from me and Mrs.Lane. We miss all of our students and look forward to the different ways we will connect with them. Thank you all for your support and know that this community is so great because of the amazing families we have here. If you need anything, please feel free to reach out.
