I am a 1984 graduate of Stephenville High School.
I graduated Cum Laude from Tarleton State University with a BS in Elementary Education with a specialization in Reading in 1988.
I have been blessed with the opportunity to attend institutes at Teachers College of Columbia University in New York City. My first training with Lucy Calkins and the TWRP staff was in 2006. In the Fall of 2015 I returned to participate in the Coaching Institute on Literacy Coaching and Whole School Reform in the Teaching of Reading. These institutes have had a profound impact on my teaching, and most importantly the students I teach.
I began my teaching career in the Fall of 1989. This Fall I will begin my 28th year of teaching at Brock ISD.
Currently, I serve as a Reading Interventionist on the Elementary campus. It is a joy each day to help kids discover the magic of reading.
My husband Chuck and I will celebrate our 31st anniversary this December. We had the good fortune of raising our sons in Brock. Bryce, 29, and his wife Katrina are TCU graduates. They live in Brock with our precious grandson, Cohen, who is 2, and our newborn granddaughter, Sklyar. Conner, 25, will marry his sweetheart, Jacey, this October. They are both Tech graduates and live in Austin. We are also parents to three furry and spoiled fellas, Tate, Ted, and Tubbs.
